Life without work can be hard. That’s why we created Futures Gateways. We’re here to help you build skills and confidence to move forward in life through work, volunteering and connecting with your community.
Our friendly team can help you to understand your strengths and build your skills. We can give you practical advice about creating a CV, finding local opportunities or tackling interviews.
We tailor our support to each person but we can help you unlock your potential in a range of ways.
Confidence and self-esteem
We know many people are anxious or lack the confidence to get into work or volunteering. We will work closely with you to help you become more confident and positive about yourself. When you’re ready, we will help you to find opportunities to work in your local community, develop networks in your area and find the confidence to take the next steps.
We can help you find volunteering roles to continue building your confidence and try new things. We have an established network of organisations and businesses who can provide opportunities for you to shine.
The next step for you may be trying out different job opportunities. For example, if you wanted to become an electrician, we offer work placements in our own repairs team. If you wanted to become a teaching assistant, we have links with local schools in our community so could find a placement for you.
An apprenticeship is a real job with training, so you can earn while you learn and pick up a nationally recognised qualification as you go. We work with Access Training, our further education provider, to deliver apprenticeships as well as providing our own. Check out our careers site for opportunities.
Learning and development
Training can unlock your future – and we can support and guide you to the right course for you. Working with Access Training, Jobcentre Plus and a variety of different local training providers in our communities, we can plug you into the right support.
