An area four times the size of London’s 02 arena is mown each year by Futures' landscaping and grounds maintenance team.
A team of just 12, split across Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, spends seven months of year mowing communal areas to keep them neat and tidy – that’s 365,065 square metres of grass.
Kevin Boocock, Operations Manager, said: “As we reach the end of the grass cutting season it’s great to look back at the amount of ground our team covers.
“When we started work (as Futures Greenscape, launched in 2011 but now part of the Futures' overall maintenance team) we had just six employees, but since then we’ve grown to provide more services and cover greater areas.”
With more than 44,000 square metres of grass in Daventry and 321,000 around Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, the team completes this round-trip ten times from April to November.
The last cut of the year is currently being completed, before the teams move their attention to winter maintenance.
