Futures delivered a company record total of 177 new homes in 2016/17 – more than double the previous record, official end of year figures have revealed.
In previous years, Futures has delivered between 60-70 new homes for customers but a new look a £147m programme and the launch of our commercial development company, Limehouse, have been game changers in this financial year.
Alan Boucker, Director of Development and Investment, said: “This shows that we have gone up the gears in a short space of time. It’s been a 100% team effort, not just within development but working with teams across the Group who have all played a part in making this happen.
“What I genuinely believe is that this is laying the foundations for the future. I’m really excited for next year when we aim to deliver 300 new homes.”
The news comes as Limehouse completed its first sales at its flagship site in Cavendish Road, Ilkeston where we are selling 20 homes and eight for shared ownership as part of a large scale development of 64 new properties in the area.
Of the 177 new homes delivered this financial year, 15 were for affordable rent, 58 were for social rent, 73 for market rent, 22 for sale and 9 for shared ownership. We’ve already made an early start on our 2017/18 programme too with 257 units currently under contract or on site.
Limehouse has also just confirmed a £1.9m regeneration project in Walker Street, Eastwood, to transform a rundown former miner’s welfare club into a brand new development of 10 shared ownership and six market rent homes. They should be completed in March 2018.
