Access Training secures a spot on government’s training register
Apprenticeships delivered by an East Midlands training provider have been given the government seal of approval.
Access Training, co-owned by Futures Housing Group and Nottingham Community Housing Association, has been named as one of only 1,700 training providers across the country on the government’s register of apprenticeship training providers.
From May 1, only organisations on the register can deliver training to employers paying the apprenticeship levy and small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
Lindsey Williams, Chief Executive of Futures Housing Group, said: “To be one of the first providers to feature on the list is a major milestone for Access Training. This new status and recognition will have a positive impact on both the learners, current and future employers.
“Access has over 30 years’ experience of helping people into employment and developing their careers by providing a wide range of on-the-job training opportunities and a place on the register is a springboard to providing further support to employers and individuals.
“Access is a great partner of businesses and is keen to work with employers within the region, having an already established track record of supporting both businesses and students.”
The register of apprenticeship training providers, created by the Department for Education, is part of government reforms to enhance apprenticeships and align them to the needs of employers.
Access Training is currently working with more than 600 individuals, including 455 apprentices, and secured the status after an assessment by the Skills Funding Agency. The SFA assessed the quality, financial health and capability of the organisation to deliver high-quality training.
Access Training provides apprenticeships, full-time courses, traineeships, professional courses and short courses to people of any age, in a range of subjects including business admin, childcare, health and social care and construction.
