As a Daventry & District Housing tenant you may have the right to swap your home with another one of our tenants, or with a tenant of another housing association in the UK. This type of swap is known as a Mutual Exchange because two or more people are involved.
You may decide you want to swap your home because it is now too big for your needs, for example if your children have grown up and moved on, or you may simply want to live in another area.
What do I need to do?
Before swapping homes you must have the permission of each landlord. You must get our permission in writing. To apply for a Mutual Exchange you must complete an application form, which can be downloaded here or requested from our office.
If you wish to apply to go on the DDH Mutual Exchange register please click on this link http://www.home-options.org/mx/Register.aspx and follow the on-screen instructions. This is a national scheme and will allow you to view details of other properties registered for a Mutual Exchange in other local authority areas.
In the first screen please select “none of the above apply” from the list and click “next”. You will need to enter your date of birth & then select “No” from the next question. Click “next” and you will be taken through the screens to enter your personal details along with information about your current home and where you wish to move to. At the end of the process you will receive a registration number stating with “LOC” and you will need this to access the system.
Already registered?
