Managing your finances
Effectively managing your finances is an important skill to have.
We have produced a budget planner to help you work out exactly how much money a month is coming in and how much is going out.
Knowing how much to set aside for rent, bills and other expenses will ensure that your most important costs are covered and should help you avoid getting into debt. If you do have problems paying your rent, contact us as soon as possible or visit our dealing with debt pages.
When you complete the budget planner, take some time to look at how much you spend on groceries and bills. There are many ways to reduce these costs and plenty of tips to help. Check out our money saving tips to find out more.
And don’t forget to claim what you are entitled to – an average of £9.9bn worth of tax credits and other benefits go unclaimed each year. Use the benefits calculator to check.
